Welcome to another review! Today, we're diving into the details of the EvolPow P3A Tank All-in-One power rack. Currently on sale for $800, the big question is: is it worth your hard-earned money and the space it occupies in your home gym?

Before we get started, a quick disclosure: this company sent me the equipment free for review purposes. That said, my opinions remain unbiased and honest.

Like many, I've been eyeing rack-integrated functional trainers from major brands like Rep, Force USA, Rogue Fitness, and Fringe Sport. These options are appealing but often come with hefty price tags. If you're looking for a cost-effective alternative, the EvolPow P3A might be a contender. Let’s explore why.

 

Dimensions

First up, let's talk dimensions:

  • 2x3 inch uprights made from 14-gauge steel

  • 84 inches tall

  • 68 inches in length

  • 4-post design for extra stability

Given its multifunctionality, the EvolPow P3A will be a central feature in your home gym. Ensure you have enough space to accommodate its footprint and the various exercises you'll perform.

 

Cable System

The cable system is a highlight:

  • Dual cable pulleys with a 2:1 ratio individually, and 1:1 when pulled together

  • 20 different height adjustments

  • 180-degree swivel to work off the side of your rack

The cables feel smooth, especially for the price point. One minor gripe: I wish there was one more hole at the bottom of the uprights to perform proper curls.

 

Weight Capacity

This rack can handle significant weight, but always approach these numbers with caution:

  • 1000 lb on the J-hooks

  • 700 lb on the safety bar

  • 400 lb for the dip attachment

  • 800 lb for the cables

The EvolPow P3A comes loaded with attachments and accessories:

A few quick notes:

  • The straight bar isn’t particularly useful for me. A longer bar with hooks on both ends would be more versatile.

  • The multi-grip pull-up bar is excellent, and at my height (5'7"), it's perfect.

  • While re-racking squats, I occasionally got caught on the lip of the J-hook, which could be a minor design flaw.

  • Additional cable attachments available on the market can further enhance versatility.

 

Unique Features

Some standout features include:

  • Pulleys designed to prevent spinning around the bolt, adding durability and smoothness.

  • Easy assembly with just one bolt, one nut, and several washers. Despite not-so-great instructions, I managed to assemble it alone with a pipe wrench. A ratchet set would simplify the process.

  • Aesthetic blue paint job (also available in black), which adds a nice touch to your gym setup.

 

Pricing & Value

At $800, the EvolPow P3A offers incredible value, especially compared to similar systems that can cost up to $4000. It supports a wide range of exercises, including pull-ups, dips, landmine exercises, and safe squatting and benching.

 

Areas for Improvement

While the EvolPow P3A is impressive, there's always r with limited space, despite the current footprint providing stability.

  • Aluminum pulleys would enhance cable travel smoothness.

  • A more compact design could benefit those with limited space, despite the current footprint providing stability.

  • Upgrading to 11-gauge steel could offer added durability and a competitive edge.

  • Redesigning the spotter arms to prevent the safety rod handles from inhibiting cable adjustments would be a big plus.

  • Improving the cable securing mechanism to prevent slip would enhance overall performance.

 

Conclusion

Overall, the EvolPow P3A is a valuable addition to any home gym. For $800, you get a versatile, robust system with numerous attachments and great functionality. With a few tweaks, it could be even better. If you're looking for a power rack with an integrated cable system at an affordable price, the EvolPow P3A is worth considering.
